- THE STORY ABOUT -
ACOF: "A Circle of Friends"
Nick and Sunil first met in 2014.
After several co-investments and collaborations, they began hosting angel investor dinners together in 2018. The topic of discussion seemed to always repeat itself – picking elite companies at the earliest stages was meant to be the hardest part of the job, not raising SPVs for follow-on capital. Why was it so time-consuming to raise and deploy when you know it's one of your breakout companies?
Among friends, they posed a simple question, what if there was a pooled vehicle that select managers could invest from? They called it the first "collaborative" opportunity fund sitting on top of several microfunds.
This novel investment model would enable managers to deploy more capital into their top companies from a collective and generalist fund, rather than raising individual SPVs.
Shortly after launching this unique model, several anchor investors (Jordan Park Group, Seafront Capital, and Fortitude Family Office) lined up to join as Limited Partners.
A generalist opportunity fund composed of thematic specialists – not anchored to any one player and consistently seeing the best deal access across the venture ecosystem.
For our investors, this is an innovative approach to working with rising emerging managers and maintaining steady exposure to the most meaningful category winners each year.
We hope you'll join along for the ride!
